MOTOR TRAFFIC. Mr. P. Skoglund, town clerk at Stratford, lias written to the town elerk in New Plymouth, suggesting that bcfor# Hi# now by-laws governing motor traffic in New Plymouth are finally confirmed a conference be held of representatives of the various local bodies in Taranaki, with a view to arranging a uniform set j of motor traffic by-laws for Taranaki. i Mr. Bellringor has replied approving the suggestion, and will place the matter hefore the next meeting of the by-laws committee. Mr. Skoglund's suggestion has much to commend it, for a motor-car passing through the several boroughs in Taranaki,may, unless some degree of uniformity is arrived at, have to change the number and position say, of its lamps from time to time on its journey in order to comply with the various sets of regulations en rQute, THAT ELECTRIC LIGHT LICENSE, j The Hon. Minister of Public Works J and Mines has written to the Stratford Borough Council: "I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 13th instant, conveying a resolution passed by your Council in reference to the license applied for by the .Stratford Electrical Supply Company. Your request that, in the event of any petition being received by me in regard to the issue of a license to the company, a I copy thereof lie forwarded to you si that your Council may know what is being done, is to my mind a reasonable one, and I will see. that it is complied with before any decision is come to therein." WEDDING. Mr. It. Anderson, of the Stratford P. and T. staff, and a popular footballer, has joined the ranks of the benedicts. His marriage to Miss Elena Weasel, daughter of Constable Bloascl, of Stratford, was celebrated on Saturday morning at the Roman Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Maples. The bride was dressed in cream crepe de chine and wore a hat with ostrich feathers. The bridesmaids, Miss Ida Bleasel, sister of the bride, and Miss Mary Mexted, niece of the bridegroom, were also dressed in cream. Mr. Roach, of the Ilawera Post Office staff, acted us best man. The ceremony at the church was fully choral. The wedding group ■were photographed on the church steps. A large number of friends attended the wedding breakfast at the residence of the bride's parents in Juliet street, the church choir being in full force, the bride having been a popular member. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson left by the 10 o'clock train for Wellington, where the honeymoon is to be spent.;

At a meeting of the executive of the Provincial Scottish Society accounts in connection with the recent Burns Supper were passed for payment. Votes of thanks were passed to all who in any way assisted towards the success of the gathering. A meeting will he held early in .March to discuss the further social activities of the. society. Yet another name must he added to the list of the Stratford School success this year. Master G. Rogers, of Regan street, on Saturday morning received a telegram staling that he had passed the examinations for matriculation and solicitor's general knowledge. His name was omitted from the list telegraphed some weeks ago. Messrs J. D. Itealy (president) ind •! 15. Richards (member of the executive) have been appointed by the Stratford A. and P. Association as delegates to tiie conference of Taranaki agriculttural and pastoral associations to be held at Stratford this morning to recommend to the Government persons for appointment to the Hoard of Agriculture.
