The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Championships .Meeting was held on the Caledonian O round to-day iu perfect weather, though the ground was a bit heavy as a result of the recent rain. About 2000 people were present. Taking it on the whole, competition was very keen, but in several events the fields were small. The Wellington team was very strong, Martins, Hudson, Doyle and Wilton proving a solid quartette. Martins was not troubled iu either of his races, and Hudson put up a fine performance in the three-mile event, completing t}ie distance in I 2-asec less time than was occupied by Beatson when the latter won the Australasian championship.
