The Agents-General discused the Commonwealth's drastic regulations coming into force at the end of March for the medical inspection of all classes of passengers prior to embarkation, and decided to suggest to their espeetive Governments that the Commonwealth should submit the matter to the consideration of the Agents-General, as their experience in connection with emigration would he valuable. Mr Coghlan considers the inspection of first-class passengers would greatly affect traffic. If shipping peaple think there is a necessity for emigrants tovisit a doctor, possibly several miles a-way, and pay a fee ol os, it is likely tc divert them to other countries.
