KGMONT RACING CLUB. ■SECOND DAY. LOS ANGELOS WINS IIAWF.IU STAKES. The Egmont Racing G-ib's spring mooting was brought to a successful conclusion yesterday, in line weather, The morning was dull and stormy, but the suit shone out brightly in the afternoon, and conditions were favorable, for enjoyable racing. Allegation retrieved his lost laurels by winning the Atkinson Memorial Stakes almost from end to end. A surprise was effected by Los Angelos in the Ilawera Stakes, the favorites, Sir Most-Icy and Kcwi l'oto, having to be content with minor position?. Wild Lupin, who has performed consistently of late, returned a big dividend in the Inaha Hack Flat Handicap. I!. Young, rider of Fish-.-r in the Maiden Scurry, was cautioned ''for injudicious ridintf and for investing money on his mount without the owner's permission." The totalisators handled f l-8,43(i for the day, as -again f 17,0111 last year. The totals'shows £00,141 for the meeting, against £34,101 last year. Following are details of the rating:—

St. Gate momentarily showed in front, hut Peronilla and Lady Volga quickly took the had, the favorite (Zetes) being almost last. At the four-furlong post Peronilla and Lady Volga were clear of Astor and Bertrada, The latter came with a great run over the last hit and just beat Peronilla on the. post by a head. Styrax was in the lead before entering the straight, and won nicely bv half a length from Pikitaepa. Timothy was a length away third; then came Royal Loop and John Willie.
