MR WILFORD'S STATEMENTS

Wilford staled that the travelling allowance of the manager of railways had heen increased, while two shillings a night was taken oil' the boiler-makers. Replying to this, the lion. W. 11. lleir'u-s, Miniver of Railways said that new regulations had lieen gazotted re traveiling allowances which applied not only to the general manager, hut to a large nimilier of members of the railway service, lie said the statement I hat'the pay of the boiler-makers bad 1 n reduced was inaccurate and misleadiii'.'.
