TARANAKI SHOW.
Among the most attractive features of the Taranaki Metropolitan >Shaw will bp tliei competitions, to be held on both days. The prize-money for the most popular displays of horsemanship is quite equal to that given .by the largest societies in the besides which several valuablo cups are offered for competition. It is anticipated that the fields will bo large and the competition keen in each of the classes scheduled, especially in the Dugald Cup competition, which is attracting a great deal of attention and causing a keen rivalry the members of the North Tara- ; naki and Egmont-Wanganui Hunts. The todies' harnessing and unharnessing competition .is a new event in the schedule, and should prove interesting. This event should draw a large entry. The programme for these events is arranged to meet the convenience of competitors, and as the jumps .have been re-modelled in favor of huntsmen, the arrangements) should inset with, the approval of the most fastidious.
