DEVELOPMENTS IX NKW SOUTH WALES. By Cable—Press Association—(Jopyrifjtit Sydney, February 3. The retiring Chief Railway Commissioner. speaking at a farewell gathering o„' the technical staff, said he was 'blamed for not having foreseen the great expansion of the past seven years. If he had Jailed to foresee it he was in good company and wjib not ashamed. The manager of the Bank of New South Wales confessed that he and liis directors had similarly failed to foresee the marvellous expansion of the past few years. Hr pointed out that fourteen millions had been spent from'' loans during the past seven years.
