The present prices of New Zealand butters are expected to create increasing demand. There is no change in prices for New Zealand, Australian. Argentine and Siberian; Danish is quoted at 125s to 128s.

Cheese—The market is steady, with no change in prices for Canadian. It is reported that some sellers are "liear■ing" the market for Xew Zealand cheese. New Zealand white (its lid (o l)ss. Tlierc is no change in prices for colored. Hemp—The Manila market remains firm. American -buying continues in the Philippines. The purchases to date arc estimated at approximately 100.0(10 hales. At this end the market is quiet Imt steady at last- quotation. The output from Manila for the week was 19,000 hales. The New Zealand market is quiet hut steady. Fair hemp in dock k offered at £24 to £25, high-point fair in the. same position has sold at £25, forward shipment good-fair £2O 10s, fair £24 ss. Sisal—Market steadier and the price equal to £27 to £27 10s c.i.f. Europe. The stocks as at December 30 were 88,174 hales as against 93,004 in the previous year. The total exports for ( the year' were 875,907 'bales, against 855,360 for the previous year. j Wool—The market is quiet but firm.
