NEW ARMY AEROPLANE. By Gable—Press Association-r-Copyright London, January 28. The Daily Mail states that the War Office has designed a, new type of aeroplane, equipped for the transport of a pilot and ten men, with a- speed of a mile a minute.
SUCCESSFUL AUCKLAND FLIGHT. Ly Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. Lieutenant Hammond made a success- ' ful flight in the aeroplane Britannia last evening, accompanied by Miss Esme McLellan, a visitor, who accepted Lieut. Hammond's invitation on the spur of the moment. The aeroplane ascended about 1000 ft, and the (light was highly successful. ; , „. - ' ~ : ;—Ate.. CAUDRON FLIGHT AT OTAKT. Wellington, Last Night. H. Scotland made a successful trial i flight in his Caudron biplane at Ol aid this afternoon. A large crowd, mostly Maoris, -watched the. machine rise to a height of about o(K) feet and circle about for half-an-hour, and then descend gently to the ground a few yards fro-u the starting point. A speed of about CO miles an hour was attained at times.
