There lias been a fairly active demand throughout the week, but prices have given way in some eases, mainly owing to a little extra pressure to sell, in view of the approaching holidays.

Demosthenes, Xwere only landed in time, for marketSing this week, and the quantity showling a good increase over previous receipts caused a little more anxiety on .the part of sellers to keep clear. No trouble has been experienced in clearing all the best goods at lop prices, but: the under grades at once feel the pressure, mid it lias been move difficult to clear them than for some weeks past. iSalted and nnsalted'look likely to soon ( .-gct to the same level in value.
