WAITAEA WEST ROAD BOARD.

At the monthly meeting of the above Board there were present: Mr. T. French (chairman), and Messrs Lepper and Sur-

rey. Correspondence was read from Mr. B. L. Loiigstall', requesting that a further length of metal be put down on the Mahoetahi road; from Mr. F..Crowe, stating that no royalty would be charged on metal used for the Elsliam road; and from Mr. F. Wilson, re making bylaws for the district. Surfaceman Jordan reported that he . had been engaged in taking off grass and raking in metal on Kelly and Te Arei roads. The Waitara road required repairing, and it was useless attempting to do anything without fresh metal. It was left in the chairman's hands to engage a surfaceman for the Lepperton portion of the district. Mr. Murdoch not having taken up the position. ■ The chairman reported that he considered it would he best to do away with the present culvert on the Karaka road when it requires repairing, and replace same with concrete pipes at the ioottom of the hill. A few loads of shingle were required on the road.
