FLOODS IN AMERICA.
HUNDREDS HOMELESS. By Cable —Press Association—Copyrlgit Received 27, 9.40 p.m. New York, January 20. Storms and floods have occurred in California. 'Several persons have been drowned, including a millionaire and his wife, during a mountain cloud-burst near the millionaire colony of Morieceitc. Railroad communication is at a standstill. Hundreds are homeless, and ranches are marooned. Tho floods occurred in low-lying districts. Salt Lake Cfty reports that an avalanche near Storrs swept over aud wrecked four houses, killing three and wounding three miners who were inmates. The inhabitants, fearing a further avalanche, fled.
