Her baby having died, a widow girl of fourteen prepared a funeral pyre in tho corner of a bedroom unknown to anybody. She saturated lu-r clothing with kerosene, ignited it and lay on the pyre while the mass blazed. A female relative heard the crackling and pulled the girl off and quenched the flames, despite her protests. The girl subsequently died from the effect of her burns.
