A LIVELY WELu UNEXPECTED " BLOW OUT." AT THE BLENHEIM LiOItE. Tlie Blenheim Company's bore at Mofuroa became unexpectedly lively on Sunday afternoon, when oil was hurled to the top of the derrick. There we-e no workmen du duty ill the time, and the How of oil was consequently inchecked, with the result that yeslerd.i,' the inside of the derrick ami the su:loundings of the bore were inches deeo in oil, and the siudgc-pit became a lak? of oil.
The blowout was entirely unexpectel, as the field manager had calculated tint with iJin. casing the pressure of gas would not be strong enough to force 'V' oil out of the bore. That it has done so is u favorable sign, although it has mode rather a mess of (he derrick.
Yesterday the stall' was engaged in clearing away the congealed oil, and in making preparations for pumping the stored oil over to the tank which the company has rented from the Tarauaki (N.Z.) Oil Wells, Company, Ltd. It is expected that this lank will he ready to receive the oil to-day. The pressure of gas in the bore is still strong, but Mr. Eedorowicz does not anticipate any repetition of Sunday's ebullition.
