SO DAVITS REQUIRED. PASSENGERS COMPLETELY E.N£osm Times-Sydney Sun Special Cables. Received 21!, 5.3 p.m. London, January 25. A new type of lifeboat for liners has been shown at Westminster Bridge. It is torpedo-shaped, consisting of two steel cylinders. It is launched on a single wire rope, and no davits are required. In heavy weather the passengers are completely enclosed by shutting a steel door. Fresh air is provided hy a fan in the bow. The lifeoat is fitted with a propellor, operated ,»y hand-power.
