ASIATIC IMMIGRANTS.
AMERICA'S PROBLEM. By Telegraph—Press Association. Washington, January 24. Mi'. Wilson, Secretary of the Department of Labor, advised Speaker Clark that the Asiatic immigration problem could be solved if the standard of art mission were raised in order to exclude aliens unable to pass the standard of physical fitness required by the United States army. Mr. Wilson declares that a concerted movement exists in India and elsewhere to gain admission to the United States for Asiatics. Canada now contemplates a drastic exclusion law. He advises disposing of the whole question ot Asiatics in one measure. In view of the present considerable inllux of Hindus from the Philippines the problem is now acute, anil an emergency law is necessary. It is understood that the Secretary for Labor approves of action on the, lines that, have already liecu taken in Australia.
