FIRES.
FIRE AT IXVERCARGILL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, Saturday. A lire broke out at two o'clock this morning in Gordon McKenzie's tobacconist shop and spread to J. S. (loldie'p. (draper) building. Both were gutted and the stock of both entirely destroyed. fioldie's stock was insured for '£soo, Mc.Kenzie's for £l5O, and the building for £SOO. j BOARDING -HOI" SE DESTROYED. T Palmcrstoii Xorth, Saturday. A big hoarding-house at the Minanui flaxmill, Makerua. was totally destroyed by lire at uvo o'clock this mornin?. The insurances were £!>00 on the building, in the Royal, and £OSO on the stock and furniture and two billiard tables, in another oil'icc, the name of which is not ascertainable at present. There is a heavy loss over the insurance. The building was the property of A. and L. Seifert and Co., and the furniture belonged Rowley, the caterer ior the fiaxmill hands.
