Royal Dragoon, Maniaroi, Slyrax, Telikura, Tree Lucerne, Boro,;ii, GlcniVrii. Rata in, I'atronata and Simple Sam are Taranaki horses engaged at the Foxton meeting. Iliwitapu raced witli success at Awapuni, ami later on at Hastings, and it is marvellous Low Mr Cairn mn\- horse got in wilh onlv 7.11 in the Ilcrrhigtmi Welter at Fnxt'on. The new horse ambulance owned by the Wauganiii jockey Club was called into service on Monday to convey a draught horse—the victim of a street accident—to its owner's place. The ambulance attracted a- lot of attention as it conveyed the injured horse un the . main street, and tliore is no doubt about its usefulness. Clubs whose programmes include steeplechases and huri'le races I should be compelled to provide a horseambulance. By its means many good lueses could be spared much suffering, and many that in the past have b'Cn si veil ''the friendly Indict'' might hivve been saved had racing dubs done their duty. Red Lupin figures in tlie disposal ' Stakes, riin over six farlon.'s at Trent- ' ham to-day. If Altcar is at all fit the Taramiki pony may find his match in the sun of Birkenhead. ' The Diver scored at Marlon on New ' Year's Day, but whether he will see out a mile and three-quarter journey at Foxton remains to be seen. The shorter event on Ihe s-cond dav niav suit tlie I Captain Webb gelding * ljetter. The ' class of hurdlers at the gathering is not 1 of the best, and Whimper may stay as well as anything else paid up for to day; The Electric Handicap at Foxlon looks '" fairly open, but on Tar.inaki form Mam- ''. | aroa should run well. ' I Palmers! on sports will bear of noth'l I ing but fmarose for the big events at Foxton. The (iiestnut has been re .spoil--0 I sible for excellent track work. am. canI not be said to lie harshly treated.
