Estill, representing the Port of London Autliority, who arrived bv (he Niagara yostcrdav, hail an interview with the Prime Minister here to-day. He told a reporter that the Port Authority was now committed to an improvement programme* costing .€15,000,000, £-1,0(10,000 being expended to improve the facilities for handling frozen meat. Mr. Estill ridiculed the- idea of Xcw Zealand subsidising lines of steamers to carry New Zealand produce to British outports like, Hull and Bristol, when ■there was in London a market which was always growing, and keener facilities for handling large cargoes, and .shipowners would, always send ships to anv port! without requiring subsidies, so long'as they were assured of cargoes.
