CYCLING UNION' t'ONEEUKXCE. j AUCKLAND'S SECESSION. \By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. The annual conference of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union considered « coinnuinicatio'n from the Auckland Union announcing its intention to secede. It was explained that one reason was that subscriptions to the union kept the local centre financially impoverished. It was asserted that the greedy, grasping nature of the union exacted every penny and put the monev to no useful purpose. Auckland hoped to form a North Island Union, with headquarters central and e:!SV of access. The southern delegates intimated that their unions would remain loyal, and thai, the Auckland scheme-would be. frustrated. No definite action was taken. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. Woods (InvercargiH); president, -Mr. Kennedy (Oeraldine); vicepresidents. Messrs Clarke (New Plymouth), McKay (Dunedin), Wilson ((irevmouth); committee. Messrs. ■ Collingwood (Ve'ilding). Fisher (Blenheim). Hansen (Eltliam), La very (Wairarapa), and Dickson (Christehurch): secretary and treasurer. Mr. Eraser (Timaru). The next championship meeting will 1)0 held at Blenheim in March, IMS. and the annual conference will he held at Christehurch in January, 1915.
