A judgment has just been received from the Chief Justice in the action brought by Warren mid others against the Pahiatua County Council, in which application was made for an injunction to prevent the Council from levying a rate of iy 5 d in the £on the Konini Biding, or, in the alternative, from demanding more then Id in the £, and for a refund of amounts collected in excess of Id. His Honor dismissed the action on the ground that,before the Court could interfere, it must be shown that some fraud on the statute had been committed, and this, he considered, had not been proved.
