In the Highland dancing the Shamitreus championship was awarded to Bellamy (Victoria), Kilgour (Auckland) being second. The other competitors expressed much dissatisfaction with the award and withdrew from the remaining events, which were left to the Victor ians, Bellamy and Center. The former .won the Highland lling and the latter won the sailors' hornpipe.
