Till-; XJ2W AI'I'OIXTMKXTS. > At a special meeting of the Kducatinu lioard yesterday, the appointments to the stall' of the Technical College lor the ensuing year were made. Tue chief point of interest was tflie appointment of instructors in commercial sub: jects, electrical and mechanical engineering and agriculture. The two tonne: appointments were decided on bv the last meeting of 'the Education lioard, when the Technical Director (Mr. A. pointed out the necessity for the appointment of permanent instructors in those subjects. The agricultural instructor is primarily, for the benefit of fanners. The following are the sui-mss-till applicants for the positions named:
Agricultural Instructor, Mr. I'. W. Henry, a student of Hawkcsbury Agricultural College X.S.W. .Mr. lleury who is ij years of age, has been a student of I lie college for four years, and has obtained a diplonui in dairying ami agriculture. lie studied for two years the course of dairying science which the college provides. In addition, be )m.s had practical experience in agriculture and dairying. Tike greater part of this instructor's time will be spent in travelling the district, giving advice and instruction to any fanners who desire it, holding classes for fanners, and supcrin. tending agricultural instruction in the primary schools. [lis advice will be at. the service of all farmers. The various dairy comi>anies, it will be remembered, agreed to pay levies towards his salary. He is not, properly speaking, a college instructor, .but a. district in-, structoi', according to the promise made. Commercial Instructor, Mr. Valentine I/'Uli, of Dunedin. ilr. Dull' is at present in the liiad accounting ollicc of the Union Steam Ship Company. Jn addition to t!his experience, he has, during his ten years' experience with the company, been a purser on a number of boats belonging to the company and trading in Australasia, lie. has passed the accountancy professional examination iu bookkeeping, auditing, the rights of trustees and company law, and has already sat for examination in the final subjects. lie holds a speed eMtilleatc for It)!* words o£ shorthand per 'minute. He is well recommended by t'he Union SLeam Shi]> Company and by the principal of the commercial college at which lie studied. He is -27 years of ftand is married. ,

These three new appointments should iai.se tlie Technical College to a much Higher state of efficiency than has been previously attained.
