ain \ 1 BY THE ROSE CATARRH The MOTHER OF ALL DISEASE JSfr- ' BTTI "-" *■" f fffjtT "Ah, that's Catarrh," said the Doctor, " Chronic Catarrh. It is quite incurable—there is no cure for catarrh known to Medical Science." 13± Fig ~ Such is only too frequently the kind (£»*s Tt'of consolatibn offered to catarrhal suf~»ferers, and it can be proved that the ' l number of people of all ages who suffer 7 '?ftom-catarrh, or from its correlated maladies and troubles, is simply legion. , Millions of the earth's inhabitants are ''•>, .*■, gripped by the nose with this disease, 1 which is one of the most unpleasant of • all the ailments which afflict mankind, and is the forerunner of almost ever} ■'"jOther disease—so that "Take care of y-your nose and your hose will take care ,- ,of you" has become one of the most vital truisms of human life. Chronic catarrh has indeed a tight grip upon- ,■ its victim, .for it makes itself felt, in .. hemdreda ofways. It grips the nose <' and " causes polypus or post-nasal growth, ganoids, ozena, thickening of ■■ the bones or terminals of cavities, hay - fever, etc., also decay of the bones of a-tjin nose aiid sln-roundiag tissues, rein foul and horrible odours, ■"jjfcually put down to a "bad breath" or .. a disordered- stomach by mistaken >.&-people.. It grips the- eustachian tube - and-inifer ear, and causes frightful head - jjoises and deafness.. It grips the throat - and causes diseased and enlarged tonails. It grips the uvula and makes it soft and too lbng, causing a tickling iti i * the throat,'with constant cough. It - v grips the vocal cords and causes hoarseness, and a constant hawking up of v phlegm or "trying to clear the throat." - It grips the larynx and causes it to beinflamed and painful. ; Catarrh <««ko grips the bronchial, tubes and 'causes bronchial catarrh and bronchitis. .It grips the nerves of the lungs and causes asthma. It grips the entire ,y ~ itmg structure and causes rapid con- & • sumption. DURING LAST YEAR - OVER ONE THOUSAND AUSTRA- - LIANS DIED FROM CONSUMPTION, every one of. whim had nasal - -.catarrh?!n one form or another.before ' •ever consumption set in. Catarrh even when only in a latent form is th,e jiecessary predisposing cause qf consumption, and in the catarrhal secretions the bacilli easily colonise or propagate,' and . thence extend to the lungs. Catarrh : often induces deposits of foul matters the cavities abo\it and around the ,cyeß, and causes many cases of eye trouble, ulcers in the eyes;: cataract, granulation, and blindness. The method ; adppted by some medical men of drilling a hole through the'jatfbfine and insert- , ing a -tube to drain the antrum cavity into the mouth cannot be too strongly condemned, as it never affects a cure. It also causes neuralgia and makes the teeth decay. Sufferers who are gripped by the nose by this disease are ne'arly always what is termed "mouth-breath-1 ers"—they nearly always have the mouth open, finding it hard to breathe through the nose. Many persons have more or less continually some "phlegm in the throat," and however much this may be expectorated during tho day, and while awake, during sleep these catarrhal matters find their way down as a matter of course into either the lungs or eke into the stomach. No wonder, then, that so many suffer from indigestion and various stomach disorders. In children particularly this induces worms and other gastric and intestinal parasites. There are innumerable instances-of so-called pleurisy which are nothing more nor less than acute tubercular colonisation. Catarrhal slimes having for years past gradually infiltrated down the tubes into the lung cells and tho patient having eome in contact with tubercular infection, either by drinking infected milk or from some consumptive person, the germs finding such favourable environment multiply with great rapidity, thereby causing tho inflammatory condition of the lung and lining of the lung known as pleu.risy, which explains why so many, soon after such an attack of pleurisy, develop consumption and die within a year or two. Anyone will feel convinced how injurious to the general health catarrh is when it is understood that all the air that is breathed passes over tho parts where the foul deposits are located,, and over the decaying bones and tissues, and in this way the poison is carried into the blood through tho air cells of the lungs. Not only 60, but with every breath exhaled the surrounding air is poisoned and becomes infectious to other persons, so that a badly affected caso may cause the ultimate death of thousands. Parents pass the diseaso to their children, a truly horrible and appalling fact, and pass them to an untimely grave. The-lung cells present a surface of over a thousand square feet to the air, and in this way is auto-toxemia, or self-poisoning, brought about. Tho catarrhal slimes also find their way down into tho stomach, duodenum, liver, intestines, and bladder, and in that way extend catarrh to every one of the internal organs. Any number of instances havo come under my observation of so-called ulceration of the stomach, which in reality were true cases of gastic 1 catarrh or catarrhal abscesses of the walls of the stomach. Doctors wash out the stomach, for this, but in vain, as that is only tampering-with the effect; washing out the stomach will not remove out of tho system and blood the constitutional taint, which is the true •cause of catarrh. The impure secretions filter down to the throat, bronchial tubes, and lungs. Deafness is brought about owing to these impure secretions collecting about the inner ear and'eustachian tubes, which only too often results in head noises-and total loss of hearing. Insanity, as is now well known, is often caused by catarrh in tho head and by catarrhal forming in the brain. Eye troubles are also caused by the catarrhal matter collecting above and around the eyes, post-nasal growth or polypus, quite serious enough to grip by the nose any number of sufferers and to consign them to a consumptive's grave. All these growths have their origin in those constitutional causes which induce catarrh. Enlargement of tho tonsils can only exist in sufferers who are gripped by tho nose—that is. who suffer more or less from catarrh. To attempt a euro of polypus or of any post-nasal growih by surgical operation, by cauterisation, or by any other merely local treatment, is a mistake. Tho way in which doctors treat cawirrh in its many phases is entirely wrong, because they only treat the effect. Spraying, douching, burning, cutting, "sawing off spurs," drilling the jaw and inserting a tube to drain the antrum cavity, scraping tho diseased bone, culling out tho tonsils, clipping bits off the uvula, etc., etc., never can be an effectual cure. The reason is that as all growths have their origin in constitutional and morbid matters i:i the system, a merely local treatment, whether surgical or otherwise, cannot cifecc a cure. This fact is in daily evidence and proved by the 'numerous recurrences of growths which doctors had cut out. IsOAV as to a CURE.—This is absolutely and positively assured by Mr. H. E. Kugelmann's new and natural methods of treatment. By his system of treatment no operation is necessary for diseased bones, adenoids, spurs, cavities, polypus, or other post-nasal growth, nor for enlarged tonsil?, nor for any other form of catarrhW disease, as his treatment gets down into tho constitutional inducing causes, and by completely eliminating out of tho entire system the constitutional taint, which is "the fundamental causo of catarrh, ensures an absolutely permanent cure. Sworn certificates of any number of chronic catarrhal sufferers can bo produced to prove that Mr. Kugelmann's method of treatment is most wonderfully successful and permanent. AS TO PROOF, it has been found that in giving evidence it is necessary for tho deponent to .swear to the truth of his assertions, such oath rendering him liable to imprisonment if false. Now, this is exactly what has been done by those many thousands of patients cured by Mr. Kugelmann of every supposed-to-be-incurable diseaso on earth; they have sworn to tho iruth of the statements they havo made, so that all may know that they are true. On this account most special attention is directed to the fact tli«t there arc innumerable cases of deeply-seated, obscure, intractable, and supposed-to-be-incurablo diseases which baffled the whole medical wor d, and yet such cases are now bein* readily cured in a permanent manner by tho new and right-ahead-of-date methods of Mr. H. E. Kugelmann. the famous consulting herbal practitioner and gifted diagnostician, or 14-1(3, Queen Street, Melbourne. Rvrlnpv a/in.. laide, and Brisbane. A confidential consultation with liiin will convince any sufferer that he completely understands the deeply-seated causes of disease, and, what is still of more importance, he knows how to cure it. Ho possesses the gift of intuitive diagnosis, and cau tell patients what is the cause of their disease without being in any way informed by them, and will give a straight-out opinion as to whether ho considers the case is curable or not.
