AM) AU.KCKI) IMMODEST COSTUMES. a uoßocmi council, DIS( I'SSIOX. The question of Kun-liatiiiii',' as practised on the beaches at New Plymouth came in fur some discussion at the meeting of the Borough Council last night. The discussion ranged from bath-ing-costumes in detail to the borough bv-laws.

The subject was introduced be a let-t-r from Mr T. W. Welch, who stated Unit he wrote at the request of several burgessses to ask some member of the Council to move the following resolution, or to take siicli steps as might be ncccsaury to effect the. same result:

The Mayor pointed out that the matter was provided for in the new bylaws, which would be in operation by March next.

Cr. Wilson stressed the importance of including some regulation as to the class of bathing-costume to be worn on the beach.

The Mayor remarked ti.at the present regulations in that rcpeet dealt only with mixed bathing in the Munieip'il Baths.

Cr. Wilson was of opinion that a prosecution would create a more healthv tone.
