It is surmised that the father shot his son and then ihimself, but the cause of the tragedy is a mystery. : ; Received 11, 5.10 p.m. Sydney, January 11.
The. tragedy is inexplicable, excepting the theory of the sudden dementia of the father. The son, who was an only child, was on most affectionate terms with his father. The son was apparently shot while sleeping. Last year the father Jiad a physical and nervous breakdown, and, under medical advice, visited England, lie returned to cope with the heavy Christmas business. Though still suffering from nervous tension, he refused to take the advice of his son and others to take a further rest.
