A FLOWING OIL WELL.

AT MorUKOA. INCREASE TO FIFTY BARRELS A DAY. THE BLENHEIM COMPANY'S BORE. The Blenheim bore at Moturoa is now ft highly-payable well. On December 30 oil wa.i struck at a depth of barely JBOO feet. The first yield recorded after the, well began to How freely was 18 barrels; next day.it wttß 25 days; on the neit Si barrels; and on Saturday the yield was 50 barrels. If the flow*of oil does not increase at all, which hi the Jigbt of the present indications is moit unlikely, the well will even then pay handsomely. The Blenheim well, as it U familiarly called, in the property ol the Taranaki Oil Lands A-■ lisition'and Development Company, in which both Cluistchureh and Blenheim capital is represented. Mr E. Griflilhs, of New Plymonth, is the managing director of the company, and Mr Rittcr von Fedorovfes i 3 the field manager. The boring plant used is a percussion drill of v thc latest pattern, and the drillers are Austrlana, At the end of April, 1013, drilling was begun on land at Moturoa close to the coast-line, and almost opposite to the Bonithon Company's bore. On December 30, in the same year, oil wan struck at a depth of barelv 2300 feet, not the least remarkable feature in the history of the well. It is a distinct triumph for Mr. Fedorowicz. and a tribute to his methods of working. The well is in line condition, It '>» entirely free from water, which was successfully shut off some time apo, and is eased with Oin casing. The quality of the oil now being obtained is extremely high,-and the oil itself flows entirely free from any admixture of silt or sea-water. If the flow of oil increases as ranidly in the future as in the past, the oil'indjgtry in Taranaki should receive considcwttfcV impetus from the opening up of so fine a well. TARANAKI (N.Z.) OIL WELL'S, LIU During the week the cleaning out of the No. 2 well of the Taranaki (N.Z.) Oil Wells Compare Limited, has bean successfully carried on, and the well- ia flowing as usual. At No. 5 bore, which is also running, the pressure of gas is very strong, so much so that sufficient power is obtained from this source to practically carry on the whole of the drilling at the rotary bore.
