A SENSATIONAL DISPATCH. FORCIBLE STATEMENT BY IIUERTA. IDS OPINION OF PRESIDENT WILSON. By Cable—Press Association —Copvright New York, January 8. The World prints a sensational despatch* from Mexico City stating that lluerta expressed the hope that hell would contain both President Wilson and himself before he would resign the Mexican Presidency. Huerta declares: "The time has gone past when I would give the slightest consideration to any suggestion to resign the Presidency. Once I might have resigned at the bidding of anyone, but now, no. It is not. a question of pride -or ambition with me. but duty and nothing else."
lluerta is reported to have asked waat President Wilson knew of .Mexico or Mexico's needs- .Mexico had plenty of money. The people who wanted to get rid of him would have to batter his head oil' his shoulders In-fore they killed him or his Government. The World's statement is lnsed on what lluerta is alleged to have said to an American visitor who conversed with him at the National Place.
UNITED STATES' ATTITUDE. WAITING POLICY tONTINUED. Washington, January S. The press announces that the conference between President Wilson and Mr Lind merely consisted of Mr. Lind reporting the success of the Pre-ident's waiting policy regarding Mexico. President Wilson was pleased at this and decided to continue his attitude.
