Barlow's principal winner was Gerherga, who. raced most consistently through the holidays, scoring three firsts and a second, while another member of Barlow's team to pick up a race was Lady Ami. Percy Johnson landed with White Crane and King Chira here. and. going on to Stratford, won with Butcher Boy. To this careful trainer also goes the kudos i attached to Sandy Paul's two firsts and a second at Kllerslic. Jiumiv O'Neill turned out one winner in Di <lama. while W. Mantle, trained the Stratford Cup winner, Red Lupin. The only fly in the ointment was "Jervy" Ceorge's bad spin in Auckland. After iu:<t failing to land the Railway Handicap with Crown Pearl, he had the misfortune to see his horses badly knocked about, in the unfortunate fire at tin Harp of Krin stables.
