Quality King, as a yearling, gained first prize at Dunedin Show; as a two-year-old, first both at Dunedin and Taieri Shows. As a three-year-old, he was only shown twice, gaining first prizes. Quality King's dam, Queen of Quality (008, N.Z.S.B-), show yard career Is well known to breeders. She has taken fourteen first prizes and seven champions. Among others, she was champion mare at the Exhibtion Show, Dunedin. Her sire, the far-famed Lord Salisbury, retired from the show ring an unbeaten horse. As a four-year-old first and champion at Hawke's Bay, Knight of Quality, also out of Dolly, gained first at Palmerston N., Wanganui, Hawera and New Plymouth, both colts being afterwards sold in Australia for somcthnig over C4OO each.
