It is understood that Deck's left leg is badly broken, lie also leccivcd various minor injuries to his head and body. DROWNED WHILE FISIIIXO. Darguville, Saturday. A man was lost from Tuirangi yester. day whilst fishing at the Heads. His body was discovered this morning'by the light-house keeper at Poiito. The man is not known. SUICIDE AT AVANG'AXI'I. Wangamii, I-ast Xight. A man named C. D. Caddell, who.has peen staying, at Foster's Hotel for sonv) months, committed suione c:\rly ou Saturday morning, by means of a hypodermic injection. Deceased, who was a remittance man. came downstairs at about 2 a.m. and asked the ni'dit porter for a drink of milk, remarking that be did not want to be called early in the morning, lie apparently returned (:> his room and took a dntjr, i!s the porter, a couple of hours later beard him groaning. A doctor was called and the man taken to he hospital, but he did not recover consciousness, lie left a letter stating liia intention to commit suicide.
