Suighenydd disaster Mr. Shaw, the mine manager, gave evidence that the mine was gassy and dusty. After the explosion two lamps were fend open, Presumably they had been opened by the lanipnian. The lamps might have gone out and been afterwards opened. London, January 3. Shaw adilcd that lie biieved a. blowout of gas dislodged a rock, which emit- ■> ted a spark, and the explosive mixture was forced agffinst an open lamp, thus causing the disaster.
