INDRA BOAT'S FLOTSAM.
FISHING IT OUT OF THE WATER. Arrangements are going on for another pull on the lndrabarah at next spring tides. Concerning the jettisoned cargo there is something new to report. Mr. F. H. Taylor, shipping manager for Messrs. Dalgety and Company, who are New Zealand agents for Lloyd's, has visited the scene, and he states that the contractor has made a start with getting the jettisoned cargo off the beach into Greatford. This is a difficult mat-1 ter, as bales of flax and hemp, casks of pelts and tallow, and cases and baga of kauri gum are strewn along the beach for some distances north and south of where the steamer lie 3. When this flotsam approaches the shore it has jto be secured and drawn out of the water. In the case of the tallow and pelts, thq casks are placed on skids and drawn inshore by horses. When it has been landed tin the beach it is loaded'on fourhorse lorries, and conveyed five miles over sand and sand hills, to a depot which has been erected on the main roadside. From here it is conveyed by means of motor lorries and other conveyances to Greatford. The waggons used in carting the stuff from the beach to the depot have exceptionally broad tyrea, but travelling over the loose sand i» very difficult. On Wednesday—the day on which Hie contractor commenced his work —two big loads of cargo were landed at the depot. Yesterday it was expected that ten four-horae teams would be at vork.—Dominion.
