SAILS FOR SUVA. Per Press Association. Auckland Last Night. The historic visit of the battleship New Zealand to the Dominion came to an end this afternoon. At 3 o'clook she sailed for Suva in continuation of her voyage round the world. His Excellency the Governor and the Countess of Liverpool paid the ship their compliments by coming up from Wellington by special train to say good-bye. His Excellency was met at the railway platform by Captain Halsey. The Governor and Lady Liverpool lunched on board with Captain Halsey, and subsequently went aboard the Defence steamer Lady Roberts, which accompanied the battleship down the harbour and round the channel. There was a large crowd of the public on the wharves round the waterfront to see the big ship cast off and go down the harbour. Captain Halsey handled the New Zealand with the same ability which was the admiration of everybody when he laid the vessel alongside the Queen Street Wharf. The shipping in port made a liberal display of bunting in honor of the departure of the warship, and as she drew away from the wharf each ship dipped Tier ensign. The New Zealand is due at Suva on July 1, Honolulu July 12, Vancouver July 2.). and then sails down the coast to Acapulco, Panama, Callao. Valparaiso, Monte Video, Rio de Janiero, Trinidad, and the West Indies, fin sailing for Home from Bermuda on No- ( vember 10th.
