THE PLUMBERS' BOARD. Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Niglit. The Plumbers' Board decided upon a basis of districts in which sanitary plumbing shall be done by registered plumbers, and a draft is now being prepared asi to methods of simplifying registration. It was decided that the minimum examination for qualification allowed by the Act, that of Grade 2 of the City and Guilds of London Institue be approved, and raised six months after the getting of the regulations, to that to be prescribed by the Board's own Examination. The Hoard is obtaining information regarding the standard of plumbing examinations in Sydney and Melbourne. The Board also considered the need for gran ling permits, ami. of requiring registered plumbers to notify changes of address within 14 d iys. SHORTAGE OF LABOR. \ Christchurch, Last Night. Mr. P. Hallv. Conciliation Commissioner, who has just returned from Reeftoil. practically confirms Mr. Pryor's statements regarding the shortage of J labor in the Reefton district, and states that Mr. Lee, the general secretary of the Big River and other eompanies.'told him that at present every man capable of handling a pick and shovel is given employment at Reefton.
