Union Bank £SO 10s and £57 10s. | National Bank of New Zealand £1 15s ! and £5 ss. j S BRISBANE WOOL SALES. 1 Brisbane, June 25. The wool sales opened to-day, when competition was keen and general. l Prices were on a par with those of May, excepting for top lots. Creasy lots were a trifle easier. LONDON MAUKKT REPORT. Messrs E. Griffiths <i.ml Co., New Plymouth, are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals. Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated May 10, 1013: Butter.—There is no fresh feature in the market this week, excepting perhaps that goods of a secondary quality are » little easier. hi really choice, butler there is not much offering at under 112s. Australian: Quotations for Australian just now are not a fair comparison with' other descriptions offering, and the reason for the comparatively low rates is that there is very little, if any. really choice butter now coming forward, most of it apparently being consumed at home. The under-grados are lue.ctin" * the active competition of Siberian, which ■•■ still arrives in good order, and of which large quantities have been sold this'week . at i)4s to 08s, and buyers are giving this ' the preference over Australian at the same price.

New Zealand: There is nothing fresh landed, the small quantity offering making practically the same price as Danish. Siberian: Owing to Ihe large quantifv of secondary qualities on offer from, various countries, the trade has been a little quiet, but this description lias been getting the bulk of the trade that has .been passing. At the close of the market there is a better tone with best butter, and) IHOs to 102s is made for choice parcels.

Krench: Trade is just opening. Choice qualities are quoted at I His to 120s, with good value at 100s to 110s. Cheese. —Canadian: Steady and unchanged. New Zealand: White is very scarce, and Is more is asked and obtained, but with colored Is less has to be taken in order to clear the extra quantity which our New Zealand friends have been sending forward this season. ]t should be taken as a standard that; the quantity of white cheese from New Zealand to this country should be fully 70 per cent, of the total shipments, leaving 30 per cent, colored. If this standard of color is followed there would not be those serious differences which at present exist, and which must cause heart-burnings amongst many of the factories.
