Mr. 11. Okoy, M.P., and Mr. C. A. Wilkinson M.l\, loft for Wellington yesterday to attend the opening of Parliament. The Commissioners oE the 1851 Exhibition have awarded Hurbridge. a Xevv Zwilauder, a research scholarship of £l5O per annum. Temporary appointments confirmed by the Taranaki Education Board yesterday were:— Assistant, Stanley School, Miss M. Tobin; sole teacher, I'ruti School, Miss E. M. Clark. Mr. O. Knoft'lock has been appointed chairman of the lhaia School Committee, and the following committee has been elected:—Messrs. P. Carter, F. Martin, E. 0. Hanlon and ,1. Smith. Mr. A. David has been elected chairman of the first committee of the Waingongoro School, with the following committee:—Messrs H. Woulfe, Havlock, Morrisey and E. O'Sullivan. The following resignations were accepted at the meeting of the Taranaki Education Board yesterday:—Miss L. A. Rookes, assistant at Itahotu, Miss 0. M. Lecd, sewing teacher at Douglas, Mrs. X. Foreman, sewing teacher at Okau. and Mrs. Richmond, assistant at Stanley Road School.
