HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. Per Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. Following is the High Commissioner cablegram, under date London, June 1 (Note: Quotations, unless other wis specified, are average market prices o spot) : Mutton.—The market is firm, an there is no change in prices. Cante: bury 4Vid, light weight is in small suj ply and is as high as 4%d, North Islan 4%<L Lamb. —The market is not quite s firm; there is a dull sale for heav; carcasses, at lower prices . Canterbur; 6y 3 d, heavy weights 5y 2 d, other thai Canterbury unaltered. Beef.—The market is firm. New Zea I land hinds 3%d, fores 3<4d; chilled sup \ plies are decreasing, and prices ar< firmer; hinds 4%d, fores 3y 4 d. Rivei Plate shipments received during th< month of May, 1913, are: To London mutton 55,532 carcases, lamb 55,500 car cases; to Liverpool, 105,217 and 72,68(1 carcases; to Hull, 5317 and nil; to Southampton, 2443 and 300; Newcastle, 6853 and nil; total, mutton, 175,362 carcases, and lamb 128,480 carcases. Butter.—The market is rather quiet, with a good demand for choicest New Zealand and Australian; all prices have declined excepting Danish. Choicest New Zealand 'll3s, Danish, 116s 6d, Australian 1055., Siberian 100s. Cheese.—The stocks are sufficient for the demand which is,-very fair, and prices ar& maintained; there is no change in prices. Hemp.—The ( market has been depressed„but at the close there was better demand. During this week good fair was selling at £2B 10s, fair £25; the value to-day is about 5s to 10a lower for any position; fair current Manila £29 10s for all positions. The output from Manila for the week amounted to 12,000 bales. Oats.—The market is quiet and steady; old crop is in moderate supply; New Zealand short sparrowbills exgranary per quarter (384 lbs) 235, Danish per quarter (320 lbs.), 21s 6d; new crop, nothing offering here. Peas.—The market remains firm for best quality, and the demand for spot is good; New Zealand peas (partridge) per 504 lbs., 425., old crop, inferior, selling very slowly, per 504 lbs., 37s fid. Beans.—The market is quiet, but firm; New Zealand, f.a.q,, old crop, per 504 lbs. 40s. Cocksfoot.—Nothing has been done. Wool.—The market is firm and unchanged.
