NAPIER HARBOR BOARD. Per Press Association. Napier, Monday. The Magistrate delivered judgment on the re-count, of the Harbor Board poll. As the result of certain cases of dual voting the final figures place F. W. Williams and W. J. McGratli a dead heat for the third seat. As the law makes no provision for a casting vote, the Magistrate ruled that a new election was required for this seat. He will hear legal argument as to whether the whole election should be voided. Petitioner's deposit was returned. A GRUESOME DISCOVERY. Ashburton, Monday. The manager of the Coldstream estate made a gruesome discovery on Saturday on the beach at Coldstream on the north side of the Rangitata River mouth, in the shape of a boot and wader, in which was the skeleton of a human foot. It is thought to be a dismembered limb of the body of either A. E. Darby or C. Nicholas, who were victims of a boating fatality at the mouth of the Rangitata on January 21 last. SLY GROG SELLING. Invercargill, Monday. Patrick O'Connell, who was recently fined £5 for sly grog selling at Matawai, was again convicted to-day for a similar offence. A fine of £IOO, or three months' imprisonment, was imposed. , O'Connell elected to serve the sentence. A PERSISTENT UNIONIST. Auckland, Monday; It is now stated that the disorderlincss at the last meeting of tramway employees was caused by the persistence of one member. The whole question s>f accepting the proposals by the company as a basis of argument was agreed to by 75 to 12.
