RETIREMENTS AND SALARIES.
Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Two more officers of the Civil Service have received notice of retirement, having reached the age limit. These are Mr, Roderick Murray, manager of the water races at Naseb.y since 1803, and Mr. R. .7. «S. Ilickson. book-keeper in the Treasury. It is understood that the Commissioners intend to retire all officers who have reached or passed thane of li."). A number of messengers have received notice of retirement as from December 31st next, with three months' leave on pay, from September 30lh. The Commissioners intend to recommend the miminuim pension of £1 weekly lo single men. and 30s to married men. The Commissioners are engaged almost exclusively upon the provisional classification list, which will probably be finished before the end of the month. Appeals will be allowed against this within thirty days of publication, and' when appeals have been dealt with, the revised list, with recommendations resurding salary, will be presented to Parliament for approval.
