THE RUGBY GAME. 'QUEENSLAND 19, v. MAROIS 0.

Queensland defeated the Maoris by 19 to 9, the game being fast and exciting throughout. Both sides showed splendid combination, and the tackling was deadly. Woods scored and converted, and Grace kicked a goal from the field. Queensland scored two converted tries, two unconverted, and one penalty goal.

WELLINGTON GAMES.

Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather on Saturday was excellent, with a bracing southerly breeze, and the grounds were in good order for the field games. The results are as follows:—Rugby: Athletic 19, beat Poneke 8; Melrose 11, drew with St. James 11; Petone 10, beat Victoria College 3j Oriental 12, beat Wellington 3.

AUCKLAND GAMES.

Auckland, Last Night. ' There was dull and cold weather for the football matches yesterday, but there was a big attendance at Alexandra Party' wher,e the principal igame was plftyed. Ponsoijby, defeated', City by' 5 points to nil,' and ate now leading for the championship with Marist Bros. Uiriyersity beat College Rifles ; by 10 1? to 3, and Marist Bros, beat Parncll by 17 to 3.

THE WARSHIP MATCHES. . The following team, chosen from Saturday players, has been selected to play against the team from H.M.S. New Zealand on the Recreation Ground to-mor-row afternoon, commencing at 2.45 p.m.: —Full-back, Malone (Okato); threequarters, Bertrand (Star), Thompson (Rovers), Webster (Rovers); five-eighths, Surgeonor (Okato); half Turner (Okato); wing forwards, Nicholls (Inglewood) and Loveridge (Rovers); forwards, Okey (Star), Brown (Rovers), Carey (Okato), Lusk (Rovers), Stanley (Star), Eustace (Okato), and Karalus (Inglewood); emergency, Box (Star), Stewart (Rovers), Stohr (Rovers), Rickleben (Star) and Hawkins (Okato). The team will meet at the Terminus Hotel at 11.30 a.m. to-morrow, and have lunch'-' con with the team from the Dreadnought.

PRIMARY SCHOOL COMPETITION.

High School Preparatory team met West End on Saturday morning on the Racecourse. West End played with 18 boys, and the game resulted in. a win for High School by 21 points to. nil. , Cliff scored seven tries, none of which were converted. Mr. Bertrand refereed.

LAND. Received 15, 5.5 p.m. , • Brisbane, June 15. In the League game against Queensland, New Zealand won by 39 to 5, the match being .played on the cricket ground. The weather was fine and cool, and there was. a large attendance. The New Zealand team was as follows: Full-back, Miller; :three-quarters, Proebstel, Ifwerson and Duvall; five-eighths, Manning and Kelly; half, Bradley; forwards, Clarke, Shadbolt, Walters", 'King, Hogan and Hayward, The Queensland teart was: Full-back, Duffinj three-quar-ters, Lynch, Hickey, Maunders, McGregor; , five-eighths. Sargood: half, Fancy; \forwards, Busteed, Healaby, Nalder, Mackay, Greaves, Ross and Hayward. Queensland won the toss, but there was no. wind. The visitors attacked early, and quickly had, the, Queenslanders defending. From a scrum near the line, King secured and scored. Ifwerson goaled. The attack was resumed, and Kellv scored sasily. .Ifwerson converted. The Queenslanders then began to. fprce the paie, and Duffin- received at half-way. After a dodgy run, he punted over Mcfiregor's head and scored., Sargood f l( i( e d with the kick. Play was' even till near the end of the spel), when Pi-wb-itel scored, running through ..the .■ defence,, and Ifwerson '■tied. In the second spell the New Zealanders were'attacking mosij of the time. During the ■game Ifwerson sprained his ankle.

AUCKLAND MATCHES, ' Auckland, Last Night. , In the League competition, North Shore beat City, and Newton beat Ponsonby. North Shore is leading for the championship.

THE ASSOCIATION GAME WELLINGTON MATCHES. Wellington, Last Night. At Association on Saturday, Hospital 2, beat St. John's 1; Y.M.C.A; 1, drew with Thistle 1; Corinthians beat Rovers nil; Wanderers 2, beat Swifts I; Diamonds 2, drew with Brooklyn United 2.

I conclude that you are arranging all. details as to time, etc., through the Sports Committee, and therefore it will be entered in the programme of events during the day that we are off New Plymouth, in which case it will be posted up by the' ship's officer who deals with the general arrangement of events at each place.
