ENTERTAINMENTS.
EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. The usual matinee will be held at the Empire this afternoon, when a complete new series of motion pictures will be shown. The star attraction is a cleverly staged drama of circus life by the Pasquali Company, entitled "From the' Regions of Darkness," which in the dramatic section will be supported by "The Warning Hand," Essana'y drama and the subject of an interesting story in the November Motion Picture Magazine, "The Strike," (Solax) and 'Tace to Face with a Leopard." This same programme will be screened again on Monday night. On Tuesday the management will hold a grand matinee performance, when the great picture production "Queen Bess," with the world's greatest actress, Mme. Sarah Bernhardt will be soreened for the first time in New Plymouth. ' > THEATRE ROYAL PICTURES. That very fine selected programme screened for the first time on Thursday evening will be shown at the matinee this afternoon and again for the last occasion to-night. On Monday and Tuesday nights the Royal Pictures will be showing another great Vitagraph special 3000 feet in length, entitled "The Vengeance of Durand." This subject has been acclaimed as one of the strongest the Vitagraph Company whave done, and we all know that they have plenty of strong things to their credit.
