HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. Per Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night* A meeting of. .the. Council of the New Zealand Hockey Association was held last night. It was decided with reference to the 1 proposal, for.vlimiting the Association to one challenge' per annum, that no change could be made from the ; present syßtem. The following alterations 'and additions to rules were agreed upon:—(1); "No player shall take part in any representative matches unless he is duiy elected a member of a club affiliated to the Association for which he is playing, and has resided within the boundaries of such Association for not less than sis tfefcks iftj,mediatety ■■■»■ preceding?:'* the match'; (2) "if any case occur which, in the opinion of the management comit shall be dealt with by the committee in such a manner as it shall I think just"; (3) "In rule 8 delete the word., 'one month,' and-!, insert ; fhe words 'two weeks' in place thereof, and add 'excepting an annual meeting as provided in rule ten '"; (4) rule 3'f, delete the word "six" and insert the word "three" in place thereof. It was decided to circularise affiliated Associations to ascertain what support they would accord to the proposal for a New Zealand team to visit Australia.
