NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, June 6, at my Waiwakaiho yards,there was a small entry of which a fair majority was sold as follows: Weaner heifers £1 13s, store cows £1 10a to £3 2s fid, forward cows £4 5s to £4 15s, fat cows (small) £5 lis, incalf heifers £4 4s fid to £4 7s fid, springing heifers £<3 10s to £fi 17s fid, empty heifers £3 Bs. A line of seven dairy cows, spring calvers, averaged £7 12s 6d, dairy cows (guaranteed sound) at from £2 lfis to £6 6s, Jersey heifer (calved) £B, f.m. ewes 9s to 10s 6d, lambs 9s. On Monday, at Toko, 15-months steers realised £3, store cows £2 17a 6d, colored weaner heifers £2 10s, small fat steers £6 3s, fat ewes 14s, lambs (small) 6s. At Stratford on Tuesday, 10th inst., 1 owing to the very rough weather, I had only a small yarding with a good attendance of the public. Bidding throughout for most classes was Black, although most of the yarding was cleared at the hammer or privately. A good number of in-calf heifers were yarded, sales of these being made at prices in favor of the buyers. Any fat, cows offered met with very keen competition. Clearing sale.—On Friday last at Midhirst for Mrs. C. M. Luder's sale there was a very large attendance, with good competition for the dairy cows, which averaged about £8 10s. Matthews, Bennett and Co. report a small yarding in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. , Bidding was dull' for all classes, but practically everything was sold at the hammer, at slightly reduced prices. Prices as follows:—Springing heifers (good) £5 10s to £7, others £4 10s, in-calf Jersey heifers £4 15s, dairy cows £5 10s to £7 10s, store cows £2 12s fid to £3 10s, forward do. £3 16s, weaned heifers 32s to 375, steers 25s to 30s, f.m. ewes 6s. AUCKLAND MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:— At Pukekohe yards on Monday we held the first dairy sale of the season. . On Tuesday at Pukekohe we held our monthly sale. Two to three year-old steers sold at from £5 5s to £6 15s, yearling steers £3 10s to £4 ss, yearling heifers £3 5s to £4 4s, steer calves £1 15s to £2 ss, others (mixed sexes) 20s ;to 34a, empty cows.and heifers £2 18s to £4 Is, bulls £3 10s to £MOs; 110 head of beei at fully Westfield rates. At Westfield yards on Wednesday fat cattle were penned in limited numbers, and advanced in prices from £1 to £1 12s per head on last week's rates. Best oxens old to 36s per 1001b, others 33s to 355, cows and heifers 25s to 32s per lOOlbs. Steers sold at from £7 to £l6/. cows and heifers £5 to £ll 10s. Nearly all the" Waikato; consignments averaged over £l4. Veal calves same forward in good supply, and also sold at high values. Heavy vealers sold at from £3 10s t« £4 ss, medium-weights £2 5s to £3, lighter sorts 35s to 38s, smaller and fresh-dropped 3s to 18a. Sheep were yarded in full numbers and met a ready sale at an advance on last week's quotations. Best wethers sold at from 24s 9d to 345, others £1 to 24s <Jd, inferior fatted Ips <M to 18s, heavy ewes 23s to 27s 6d, others 15s (id to 225. Lambs in average supply, and sold at higher rates. Best quality sold at from 18s to 225, others 12s to 17s. Pigs came forward in average supply, and sold at higher rates. Best quality sold at from 18s to 225, others 12s to 17s. At Addington the entries of sheep of all classes were not quite equal to those of last week, but there were fair yardings in other departments. On account of the cold weather the attendance was j not so large as usual. Fai sheep—Wethers 21s to 26s 6<l, others 17a to 20s Oil, prime ewes 18s Od to 2.'!s Kid, medium 15s Gd to 18s, aged and light Da 3d to lon, merino wethers lfis lid to 18s lid, merino ewes lis. Fat cattle—The average price was on a par with that ruling a week earlier, namely,-21s to 2!ls per 1001b. Steers reallas to £ll ss/ extra to £lO 12s Od, heifers £5 10s to £9 17s Od/co'ws £5 to £lO 2s Od. Fifteen to eighteenmonths lines were passed at £3 3s, whilst two-year heifers changed hands at £3 8s fid and cows at £3 10s to £4 ss. Dairy cows made £i 10s to £9, extra to £l2 15s.

Fat lambs—Prices were, on the whole, about Is better than last week, and were equal to about 5%<l to Od per lb. Tegs made 20s to 255, average weights 17s to l!)s fid, lighter 15s to 10s fid. The yarding of fat pigs was a medium one. Choppers and baconers sold at unchanged prices, but baconers were slightly better. Choppers made £3 10s to £ 5, heavy baconers 02s Od to 755, lighter 52s to 00s. These prices were equal to 5%d per lb. Heavy porkers realised 47s

to 50s, and lighter 38s to 45s (equal to fid per lb. Store pigs: Best sorts realised 30s to 40s, medium 22s to 28s, small sorts 14s to 20s. Weaners were in good demand and brought 10s 6d to 14a fid, those realising the highest price being extra good. BURNSIDE. There was a full yarding of fat cattle •t Burnisde,. the entry totalling '2OO, •Competition,; was good,; and' prices "we're much on a par with the rate ruling at last sale. Extra prime heavy bullocks £l4 10s, prime £l2 to £l3 lOs, medium £9 10s to £ll'lss, others £8 10b to £9 10s, best prime heifers to £ll 10s, prime heifers and cows £8 10s to £lO 10s, others £5 10s to £7. Fat sheep—There was a full yarding, the eritry comprising 5000. The yarding consisted mainly of medium-weight wethers and old ewes. There were very few heavy wethers forward. Owing to there, having been no sale last week, butchers' stocks were light, and consequently the demand was good. Prices for prime sheep were firm at late rates, but for medium wethers and ewes they were a little easier. Best wethers £1 5s to £1 10b, medium 19s to £1 4s fid, others 17s to 18s fid, extra heavy ewes £1 7s 3d, medium 16s to £l, others 12s fid to 15s 6d. Fat lambs—There was a. full yarding of 3500. The usual number of export buyers were present, and a clearance was effected at prices on a par with late rate. Extra prime to £1 4s, prime 18s 6d to 20s fid, medium 18s to iU fid, others to 15s fid. Pigs—There was a very small yarding, consisting of 41 fats and 33 stores. Fat pigs were in keen demand at prices quite on a par with those ruling at the last sale, but stores were rather neglected. Best baconers £2 15s to £8 10s, light baconers £2 5s to £2 15s, porkers £2 to £2 10s, stores £1 to £1 ss, slips 15s to £l, suckers 5s to 12s. JOHNSONVILLE. ... A good entry of prime bullocks and sheep came forward and sold well at late prices. Prime heavy bullocks £l2 to £l2 ss, prime bullocks £ll 12s Gd to,£ll.las, lighter £ll ss, prime light bullocks £8 2s fid to £8 17s fid, prime heavy weaners £2 to £3j prime vealers £1 5s to £1 19s, lighter £l2s to £1 fis, prime wethers 20s fid to 20s lid, prime ewes 17s 6d to 18s, light ewes 15s fid, prime lambs 14s, plain lis. WANGANUI. Bidding ior sheep was fairly brisk, all the principal lines being disposed of , wnder the hammer. ' The demand for cattle was dull. Mixed lambs made 8s to 11a, full-mouth ewes 4» 9d, ewes in lamb 10s 7d, two and a-half year steers £4, empty cows £2 10s, forward cows £4 12s fid, calves 18s, dairy heifers £4 10s to £6 15s.
