An easterly gale is reported again this evening at. Cape Brett, near Russell, but moderate and more variable winds now prevail. Forecast: Present indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds northward of Hokitika and Kaikoura, and northerly winds elsewhere; cloudy and unsettled weather, With rain, north of the East Cape and " Kawhia, and fair to cloudy weather generally, and foggy at times on the coast. ThY barometer is now unsteady, with a falling tendency.
