Summary: Unsettled and, cloudy ■weather has continued in the northern and eastern coasts districts of the North Island, and cold and changeable weather elsewhere. An easterly gale is reported again this evening at. Cape Brett, near Russell, but moderate and more variable winds now prevail. Forecast: Present indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds northward of Hokitika and Kaikoura, and northerly winds elsewhere; cloudy and unsettled weather, With rain, north of the East Cape and " Kawhia, and fair to cloudy weather generally, and foggy at times on the coast. ThY barometer is now unsteady, with a falling tendency.
