SUBMARINE EXPLOSION.

At the inquest on the body of the I engineer who was killed by an explosion I on board submarine E.">, evidence was to the effect that the ollieers were breakfasting on Sunday when there vras a loud report and a sheet of llame shot from the engine-room. This was attributed to the back-firing igniting the vapor in the crunk pit. Engines of the Diesel type theoretically could not back-fire, but this happened in practice, A verdict of accidental death was returned. COMMANDER MOORE'S DEATH. London, June 11. Commander Moore, who was seriously .injured by the explosion on board submarine Ko on Monday last, and who subsequently had both legs amputated, died yesterday.
