There is thus still a fighting chance for Sir William Lyiic to retain the seat. This would destroy the apparent Liberal majority of one. In the Victorian elections for the Senate, Mr. McColl is holding second place, and the two other Liberal Senators are crawling up towards the Laborites who occupy the third and fourth places. Little over a thousand votes separates them. The votes polled at last election for the successful candidates were over 200,000. THE REFERENDA FIGURES. The referenda figures are slowly mounting, and the "Noes" are showing a majority on each' issue.
