Wells, who was in a stage-box at his performance, challenged him to another match. THE WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIPS Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington amateur boxing tourney concluded to-night. Results: Bantam-weight.— W. H. Brice (Wellington) beat G. MeNicholl (Christclmrch) after a good bout, an extra round being foujiht to decide the winner. Feathor-weijiht— F. Leaiy (Wellington) beat B. Tracey (Wellington) after a fight that was willing all through. The winner was clever, and used both hands well. Light-weight.—J. Hunter (Wellington) beat J. Smith (Petone) after a bout that sorely tried both boys. Hunter met and beat MacFarlane in the final, the latter'* towel being thrown in in the second round. Middle-weight.—A. Dalziell (Manawatu) beat B. Finnie (Wellington) after a good fight. Dalziell, the shorter of the two, tired the other man down, and piled on points towards the end. There was no heavyweight contest, no competitors coming forward.
