ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

FOUND DROWNED. Per Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. The body of a man, about GO years of age, was found floating in the harbor to day. Apparently the body had not been in the water more than 24 hours. Deceased belonged to the laboring class. There were no marks of violence. The body has not been identified. A JOCKEY INJURED. Napier, Tuesday. A jockey named Pool (or Paul) was seriously injured on the Napier Park racecourse this morning. lie was riding Kirkby over the hurdles, when the horse fell, landing on the boy and remaining on him for several minutes before help arrived. His spine was injured and his condition is serious. He was removed to the Napier Hospital. RAILWAY FATALITY. Christchurch, Last Night, By an accident on the train which left Heathcote shortly after 3 o'clock this afternoon, Miss Edith Marion Ren nidene, about 50 years of age, lost her life. A strong wind was blowing as the train was leaving the station. Miss Rennidene's hat was blown off, and in attempting to recover it she fell off the platform of the carriage and was run over, death being almost instantaneous.
