Gisbome, Saturday
Mr. Macilonald. member for the Bay of. Plenty, delivered a pre-sessioual address, criticising the Government in the matter of settlement, finance, Native land, and public works, lie 11.p! the promises of extensive settlement had not been realised. He would move for a return showing that the wish bad been for the freehold. He contended that, though in a minority in the House, the Liberal party was in a majority in the country. The Government had not been pushed in its finance, and the sispension of public works was unjustifiable.
